National Volunteer Week at BPL

From April 24 to 30, 2022, we celebrate our volunteers during National Volunteer Week! This annual event is a time to thank and recognize our volunteers.

We would like to thank our current volunteers and those who have been patiently waiting to be welcomed back into our spaces. Our volunteers play a critical role in creating a more just and equitable society and the Barrie Public Library wouldn’t be the same without them.

Barrie Dragon Boat Festival Returns August 20

Paddles up, Barrie!! Save the date for Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Heritage Park. Our 18th annual Barrie Dragon Boat Festival is returning after a two-year break!

Registration begins in May, so it's time to start planning those teams. Dragon boat racing is an amazing team building experience, a great workout, and so much fun. Get your friends, family, or coworkers together and have fun on the water while supporting local charitable organizations, including the Library.

This year's event will be slightly scaled back and we are working with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to ensure it will be a safe community event.

Sign up for our Barrie Dragon Boat Festival e-news.
