What's Happening @ BPL: August 2021
[First Name], check out what's happening in the library this month!

The Dragons are coming! This August, we’ve teamed up with Tim Hortons to celebrate Dragon Boat Month presented by Tim Hortons.

We’ve got a boat load of fun programs and activities planned, including Dragon Tale Storytimes, virtual visits with real dragons and lizards at the Toronto Zoo, and Grab and Go Kits available for pick-up at both the Downtown and Painswick library branches this week. These kits are full of great activities for the kids – there’s a Tim Hortons colouring contest for a chance to win Timbits for a year as well as a build-your-own Dragon Boat craft compliments of Moore Packaging (while quantities last).

Join us outside this summer

The library is moving beyond our walls to meet our community! Find us as we travel to different parks and community centers around Barrie to celebrate our Summer Reading Club.

There’s lots to do when you find us in your neighbourhood – sign up for our Summer Reading Club, report on your reading to win prizes, enjoy one of our StoryWalks® or solve some Park Puzzle clues.

Wondering what our Park Puzzles are? We’ve installed special clue tripods at five parks throughout the City of Barrie. Bring your sleuthing skills and see if you can figure out the answers! When you solve the clues, put your answer in the Beanstack Tracker App. Once you've earned all five badges for the Park Puzzle challenge, stop into either Barrie Public Library location to claim your prize.
