BIG Spring Book Sale: May 23-25

Our volunteer-led BIG Spring Book Sale is back! Join us from Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25, at the Downtown Library to pick up some new reads for the summer.
 
Are your bookshelves overflowing? We will be hosting a Community Donation Day on Thursday, May 22, at the Downtown Library from 9:30am - 9pm. Volunteers will accept items that are clean and recently published.

Author Talk with Nita Prose Wednesday, June 11 Georgian Theatre 6:30-7:30pm.

Enjoy an Evening with Nita Prose!

We are thrilled to welcome internationally acclaimed Canadian author Nita Prose for a special in-person event on Wednesday, June 11 at Georgian Theatre. 🎉
 
This highly anticipated evening will offer fans the unique opportunity to hear from the author of The Maid, a global bestseller and winner of multiple literary awards. Nita Prose will be discussing her latest work, The Maid’s Secret, the third and final book in her popular and fun-filled Molly the Maid series. There will be time at the end for questions from the audience, and Nita's books can be purchased at the event and signed by the author. 
 
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through TicketPro. Seats are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot early!

Recently, we made an exciting change that will see the library open on Sunday of ALL holiday weekends; previously it was only Family Day and Thanksgiving. More library open days = more awesomeness.

You're Invited to a Night of Canadian Poetry

Calling all poetry lovers! Join two acclaimed poets, Jessica Bebenek and Christine Wu, on May 27 at 6:30 pm as they stop at the Downtown Library for Poetry Night on their province-wide book tour.  
 
They will be discussing their recently published books: Jessica's debut poetry collection, No One Knows Us There, was released on April 8, 2025, and Christine's poetry debut, Familial Hungers, was released in February 2025.
