Downtown Library Rooftop Garden: Now Open!

The Rooftop Reading Garden at the Downtown Library is offically open for the spring and summer. It is the perfect place to relax in the sun, enjoy the sounds of nature, and read or work under an umbrella.

 

You're invited to celebrate the launch of our Seed Library on the Reading Garden on Saturday, June 1 from 10am to 12pm. Collect seeds, enjoy an interactive City of Barrie display, and hear live music from Alyssa Tess.

Tim Hortons Learn to Paddle Series Returns this Summer

We're excited to announce that Learn to Paddle Sessions are back this summer, thanks to the generous sponsorship from Tim Hortons! These FREE sessions in Heritage Park offer a chance to learn dragon boat racing while enjoying the beautiful views of Kempenfelt Bay. Don't forget to register!

BIG Spring Book Sale Raises Funds for BPL

The BIG Spring Book Sale this past weekend was a huge success!
 
Thank you to all of our patrons and volunteers who supported the event. The sale raised $5,413, which will support the advancement of library services, the development of future branches, and the Library of Things collection and tools in our Creative Spaces.

Information Barrie Resources for Seniors 

The Information Barrie Community Directory has many helpful resources for older adults. Scroll to the Explore section and click on Older Adults. There you will find supports and services as well as housing and recreation information for Seniors. You can also find events for Older Adults on the Barrie Older Adult Activity Calendar.  
 
Information Barrie staff will be at the BPL Seniors' Fair on June 24 from 10am-12pm at our Painswick Branch. Drop by to say hello to our staff and to get some tips for searching the directory.
